Translation for fun and $$$!

Many people nowadays do translation in languages they feel comfortable about. And it is a very rewarding work if you know what you are doing and do it particularly well. There is a constant need for good and qualified translators, both professional and non-professional ones. What is expected from you is to make a good, exact and quality translation of the original text (by quality i mean the use of language). However, this is not that easy as you might think. And, no matter how rewarding it can be, if translation is just not your thing to do then i would say that it will turn to be quite a boring job and i suggest you stay away from it, you will really hate it in time. Apart from this, translation need some experience, you cannot just go and say "Hey, i want to do translation!" Well, sure you can, but what if you fail? You will also fail the one who gave you the opportunity to show your work. Therefore, do not just jump into it, but make some research first. If you would like to test your translation and language skills, then just translate a few articles from your local newspaper, or a journal, into your second language and see how it goes. Keep in mind that you have to catch the same level of language as in original (if you are translating an article about politics, you cannot use a simple language, as in child stories Wink...
